Sharp makes it easier than ever to enjoy your favorite movies in spectacular 1080p high-definition quality by including an integrated Blu-ray Disc Player with its BD60 series LCD HDTV. The slot-loading Blu-ray Disc Player placed on the back of the HDTV is also backward-compatible with DVD and CD titles.

Full HD 1080p resolution produces a crisp picture, and Sharp’s Spectral Contrast Engine XD (Extreme Dark) provides a high dynamic contrast ratio, enabling deep blacks and vibrant colors, and a special dejudder feature results in the smooth reproduction of film content.

Integrated Blu-ray Disc Player

Sharp’s Quick Start feature allows you to enjoy viewing high definition content on your big screen quicker than most other Blu-ray Disc players. Additionally, the Blu-ray player features AQUOS Pure Mode, which automatically senses the aspect ratio of the Blu-ray title being played and optimizes the TV’s view mode for the best possible HD picture possible.

By optimizing standard DVD playback signals to 1080P (when displayed on a 1080P capable HDTV with HDMI technology), the Blu-ray Disc player can deliver more picture and sound quality.

Full HD 1080P Resolution

Full HD, or 1080p, contains 1920 x 1080 pixels, 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. Sharp’s 1080p panel uses a impressively high-speed liquid crystal to cut response time to 6ms.

Superlucent Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD Panel

Sharp’s innovative Superlucent Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD panel technology provides pure whites, deep blacks and a vivid range of color thanks to a dynamic contrast ratio up to 27,000:1 and LCD TV industry leading 4ms response time for true film-like smoothness. The leveled panel surface draws together external light and intensifies the panel brightness and contrast. The clear pictures reproduced on this panel takes full advantage of the details of a 1080p panel.

Optical Picture Control Sensor

Optical Picture Control (OPC) is a sensor on all Sharp AQUOS LCD HDTVs that, when activated, will automatically raise or lower the brightness level of the TV to match the ambient lighting in a room. A dedicated Power Savings button allows you to set the Power Saving level that can result in decreased overall power consumption and increased backlight lifespan.
